Sweet-shop nostalgics,
This limited-edition silkscreen print — Foam Shrimp — is part of my Pick ’n’ Mix series and was hand-pulled by me at my Screen Print Studio. Straight from retro sweet-counter memory: pink chewy shrimp in all their kitschy pastel glory, framed like an old-school confectionery label.
Printed in six separate layers of ink on 250gsm off-white GF Smith card, the piece has that tactile, imperfect, lived-in finish only true screen printing can give. Each print is signed, numbered (edition of 100) and comes with a bonus screen-printed candy bag — just like the paper stripy bags your penny sweets came in.
